B-Series vs. E-Series
Re: B-Series vs. E-Series
i will agree that ba's are a dime a dozen. there is shit loads of em round.
anyone think there is a reason behind that? they are a comfy car with shitloads of go!
i loved my old eb but it is/was nothing compared to my ba.
i used to get quite a few looks in the eb, but now people just stare sometimes lol.
anyway this thread aint gunna change much, people are still gunna whinge bout us ba owners....

at the end of the day it come down to reliablity for me.
EF= Engine problems, diff problems, cold starts were a bitch, chewed fuel and the list goes on
BA= Runs Great, quick(for an N/A) looks good, Starts fine everytime, good on fuel(when drivin easy) comfy on long trips, and the list goes on.
although...something breaks on the EF pick-apart will get you that part cheap, somthing breaks on the BA its gonna be abit more $$$.

This is the stupidest argument in this whole thing. You AND Snyper say the same thing. You drive E-Series because they are rarer? Lol.DEVLXR wrote:Hard to say really, I don't think I could own a BA just because it seems EVERYONE has one!

John I think we need a reputation system here. Coz AFF's is like really really cool. I envy RG's rep.

Everyone that has made a comment on this topic is right in their own way. Yer, B series cars are more modern which ultimately makes the car better. I think what Shaun was saying was it doesn't mean a fkn difference what car you drive weather it be a top of the model bright yellow 300+kw FPV, or a pretty basic half decent looking E series.

Re: B-Series vs. E-Series
I'd rather a stock N/A 6 bf ghia than any turbo E-seires anyday...
I can always spot a BF ghia from a mile away, I don't even know what it is about them that attracts my attention but they just stick out.... even when I can only seem them side on from 400 meters away I can tell.
If I had the money, a black BF ghia I6 on a nice set of 19's or 20's... or maybe even stock wheels but lowred like Low_XR's height... converted to turbo is what I'd have.... maybe some nizpro kits or something.
But I don't have the money for that, and an E-seires is all I can afford... not bad for their price, cheap to fix and fairly reliable.
I can't really complain about my car... its pretty decent for the price I paid.... I'm pretty happy with it... its comfortable, runs good, goes fast enough, not too bad on fuel, handle's OK, quiet, looks alright... should be reliable, dads falcons have all been reliable over the years....
Nothing wrong with an E-seires IMO.

Re: B-Series vs. E-Series
Its like comparing chork and cheese, B-series are new, fresh more economical, more power, nicer to ride in etc etc....
E-series are the outdated version...
As people say the xr6t's are the new VL-turbos of the future cause u can get good power out of them for little price.
E-series that are done up are more unique where someone has put alot of time and effort into modifying it.
Nevertheless nothing beats a new car in any category...

Re: B-Series vs. E-Series
I think this is the statement that best describes point of view of most of the users of this site. How many cars do you see getting around with a wing, zorst and rims? Seems to me the general population thinks that's sporty. If that's so, then I don't want to impress them. I'd rather have an enthusiast come up and ask what I've done or how quick it is, even though I don't have much to say about either, rather than randoms telling me it's nice, which I get with my E-Series anyway.EFFalcon wrote:I'd prefer to impress like minded car people then the 'general' population.
the general population would probably look at a prius over a BA.
In saying that though, if I didn't care about money I'd have a G6ET as a daily and mod it too
Re: B-Series vs. E-Series
BF II Force 6 please.
Parent's BF Futura wagon is fkn nice, even though it's standard & jacked up for towing. Interior is SO much better than the ED, and AU for that matter. Goes alright too, considering it's a barge.
Once I've gotten over my thrash phase, I might buy a BF XR6T or an FPV if I can find a reasonably priced one.
B series have loads of aftermarket support too. And good brakes. And tailshafts that don't explode at 180+kph.

Re: B-Series vs. E-Series
Earlier this year I seriously looked at buying a BF Typhoon then I worked out that I would have to spend three times what I have spent on my EA just to buy a car that is stock as a rock and slower than the EA. Then I would have to spend the total amount I have spent on my EA gain on the mods that I want in the typhoon.
I don't have that sort of cash lying around so I would end up with a nicer car, faster by that stage too but I would be responsible for paying off about $50,000 + interest for a car that the bank ultimately owns.
Fark that... I think I can make it to my goal of 385rwkw by spending another $5,000 on my EA and then I will have a car + mods that I own outright and that I can enjoy just as much.
In the end the price is too high for the sort of B-Series that I would want to own. It's as simple as that in my mind. If I had the cash to drop though I would have the Typhoon built that I want so I'm actually on both sides in this discussion. Since I don't have that kind of cash it's either my EA or an import... the EA is still around so for now it stays.

Re: B-Series vs. E-Series
So we are comparing cars that were built 10 years apart?
If so then the answer couldn't be more obvious. Stupid question really.
However if you compare a (fictitious) current build E-series Vs a current build B-Series, then that is a different question all together.
I am of similar opinion as Shaun, BAT is easy option than buying a car built in the early 90’s and customising. You are paying Ford of the upgrade and not doing a lot yourself. IMHO I will always favour ‘built’ over ‘bought’. A set of rims and cooler is not built.
At the end of the day it is preference of style, I prefer the styling of the DC over a BA any day. Even though they are 10 years apart, I wouldn’t swap the DC for a BA GT-P. As I said, it’s personal taste.

Probably wouldn't sell it, given nobody would pay more than 2k for it, and it has sentimental value.
I've spent far too much money on cars in general to justify buying a new car, I'd just feel I was throwing money away needlessly.

Re: B-Series vs. E-Series
LOL at status in a Ford!!!
To me its not really about B vs E. Modifying cars is supposed to be about adding your own style and ingenuity (or lack thereof lol) to make it different.
With very few exceptions, 99.9% of B-series Falcons are the same, its extremely rare to find one that has had something different done to it (maybe because owners blew all their cash buying it?). B-series cunce like to get all sweaty about which air filter or springs or cat back they are using (and laughably which factory options). How many XR6T's have you seen with an non-factory exhaust manifold or lower intake? Or forged motor? How many are using a different transmission?
You can't make a car different with parts or work that anyone could copy with 5 minutes work. That is not interesting.
Though if you do happen to like that sort of thing, theres heaps of "projects" here...
Anyway, B-series are dead. Your a pov cnut who lives in a shanty if you don't have an FG.

Re: B-Series vs. E-Series
I think thats the first semi-serious post i've seen from TUFED6 in a while.
BA's are a smart choice if you want 300rwkw wrapped up in a neat reliable package.
want more then that then start rolling out the coin.
Most people who own eseries can't justify spending big $$$ on a car.
doesn't make them pov... especially when they're going out and getting the turbo kits/plenums/paint jobs/wheels.
i'm paying off a house
I'd rather dump $15k on the mortgage then buy a BA
Reasons i don't upgrade
EF is already quickish
EF is reliable
EF is cheaper to run
EF is cheaper to fix
If it gets scratched, i don't cry
EF stands out
EF's arnt expected to be 'that' quick
